Sir’Jabari Rice of Texas earned MVP honors with consistent excellence
in leading his team to three wins. He averaged 16.3 points per game,
shooting 61.3% (19-of-31) from the field and 45.5% (5-of-11) from
3-point range while also adding 3.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
Rice shot over 58% in all three games and scored in double figures
all three times.
Rice was named Big 12 6th Man of the Year as a graduate transfer at
Texas following four seasons at New Mexico State where he earned
all-conference honors in the Western Athletic Conference three times.
